NSS or starter

Thought I had a NSS problem. Would start in neutral or park after shifting through gears (auto). That stopped working. Rev lites come on like they should. Should I still concentrate on NSS or look into starter problem.

Get a voltmeter or test light, disconnect the small wire from the starter solenoid, and connect the meter or light to the wire and the negative battery post. Turn the key to start, if the meter or test light shows power there, the NSS is good. If not, then it is likely bad.
