Stout little engine , especially with the 3.73 rear and 6spd auto ! If Ford had kept the Ranger, with this engine and a 6spd manual....the only problem would have been keeping up with demand.
My new '14 STX 4x4, 3.7V6 3.73 limited slip rear. Love this little engine ! Rated at 50hp more than the 4,62v I traded, the 6spd trans keeps it in the sweet spot with little effort. Now....what to do to it first...??
One week old today and already has over 1000 miles. First tank avg was 17.5, second was 18.6, both times the computer was within .2 of hand calculation. The first tank, of course was not broken in...and had a few trips to the 7k redline , just to hear that little engine sing.
