My New Ride!!!!
And.......here is my NEW ride!!!
So, here is how this went down. The order was placed on July 9th, 2015. My truck (the first pic above) sold within three days of posting up the ad!!! My NEW ride (the next three pics) arrived on my doorstep on August 25th, 2015.
This is my very first time EVER purchasing a brand spanking new ride. Not only purchasing it, but special ordering it too, a 2016 F-250 CCSB 4x4 6.7L black beauty!!! I must say, I must have been crazy for even thinking about it, let alone doing it. But now after about a week of ownership I can honestly say I am very happy with my decision. A HUGE part of me is already missing my 6.0L that was very good to me in the four years that I owned it. And in those four years of ownership, I only ever had to replace ONE injector!!!! No EGR cooler EGR valve, FICM, oil cooler or head gasket problems. So, proof is in the pudding. There ARE some reliable 6.0L trucks on the road. You just never hear/read about them.
One thing I have to complain about with the new truck though, is the fuel tank size. Going from a 115 litre fuel tank down to a 98 litre fuel tank SUCKS!!! But I guess room had to be made to accommodate the DEF tank, hence the capacity reduction for the fuel tank. I'm not going to comment on fuel economy until my new ride is broken in though, other than to say the best I was able to manage with my old 6.0L was between 12 to 13 MPGs, nowhere near to 18 to 20 claimed by some here. My new ride is equipped with 3.55s with the optioned LT275/65R20 tires (versus the 3.73s with the old truck), which puts me at about 1750 RPMs at highway cruising speed in 6th so hopefully that help. I figured with 860 ft-lbs of torque, the engine really doesn't need that much mechanical advantage.
Well guys, just because I am now the owner of a 6.7L does NOT mean I will stop posting here on the 6.0 forums just so you know. Quite honestly, the 6.7 forum seems very quiet which must be a good thing!!! I will admit though, there are probably more times than not that I am going to be missing the clatter of my old 6.0L with that classic diesel sound!!!!
I was worried that he might of gone over to the dark side and had ( shiver )
a Dodge to show us.

Enjoy the new ride. Glad you'll still be hanging out with us lowly ol' 6.0 people.

But on the flip side, other than the Mustang equipped with the 5.0L manual, I am NOT crazy about any of their cars of late, but that's for another thread for me to rant about. And that's why I chose yet another truck.

was so slow it took quit a long time to load the image. So my imagination ram away with it's self.
On you fuel tank size. Does Titan make a larger tank? Mods on a new truck that has not even
had the time to get it's first squeaks. But it's a thought.
