2.73, 3.08, 3.55, and 4.10. The axle code on the drivers door pillar will tell you what your truck has.

My ford trucks are either 3.55's or 4.10's, my Cobra still has 3.08 gears, my 05 GT has 3.73's and my Ram 1500 work truck has 3.90's. I had 4.56's in it for a couple years and loved them, but since I'm moving and will be driving a lot more highway miles and my pinion seal was leaking I went to the 3.90's. It feels "normal" in both a good and bad way... 2k rpm is now 70mph vs 60mph but the acceleration is definitely changed. It still gets up and goes for a 4.7 v8, but with the 4.56's and an empty bed flooring it off the line would leave 10-15' of stripes... Not power braking, just mash foot to the floor from a stop. It did however get 10.5mpg everywhere it went with the 4.56's. Empty, full, towing a 6k travel trailer, towing a car trailer, on the highway, around town... I'm now up to 13.7mpg

One thing that I try to do to make it a little more clear is use the terms "taller" and "shorter". 3.08 gears are tall, 4.56 are short. That corresponds to tire size, tall gears have the same effect on performance as tall tires, short gears same as short tires.

In my 93 (long bed single cab) I'm running 3.08
That's a 4.9 with an e4od
In another 94 (short bed single cab) it's running 2.73
That's a 4.9 with a 5spd (not sure what tranny that is)
Both have 8.8 open rear end and 235/75/15
