Worth of a bed
I drove about 20 minutes down the road to look at a bed sight unseen. I was told the bed was in outstanding condition. I get there to find a bed that has a good floor, rusted out wheel wells, rusted out rear quarters, holes rusted in the inner wheel wells and a tailgate that would not function. The bed in my opinion isn't as good as mine. He wanted $600. The bed did have trim on it but none of the trim is what I would call usable. I know prices are subjective. I just wondered what is the norm. I don't mind spending money on quality stuff but $600 for a bed in this condition just seemed just a little steep. Who knows, that might be a good deal in some areas and I understand these things are getting hard to find.

Beds
yep, getting hard to find,,and prices are all over the place. And then the wording used respectable, presentable, what ever,,whats wrong with needs work.I had a guy 4 hrs from me in in Pitts burg, that sells on craigs list regular,,had a bed; told me his cameras broke,2 weeks later selling stuff on cl.Want you to drive 4 hrs on a hope and a prayer.come on man,,,,And then their southern truck parts in Mich wants 5000 to build a bed. Most of my parts by knocking on doors parked in a feild going to seed.goodluck

i live in ny where everything here is rusted and or rotted , i was cruising craigslist for truck parts and came across a guy not far from me with a box from texas and his asking price was $2500.00!!!!!!!!! are your serious ? i picked up my bed from a guy for $300.00 bucks. sure the floor needs some work but the bed sides are mint with no rust at all. drove nearly 3 hours site unseen and was pleased with what i found. keep looking , you can and will find one thats worth buying and pay a fair price.

Found one in Virginia for $300. Typical wheel well rust, great tailgate, inside VG condition
There were 2 near me in NY, within 1/4 mile of each other. 1 looked like a re-production as the panels were put together with screws , no tailgate, $800. The other rusty floor, wheel wells, rear 1/4, with gate $450
