I believe that this bed is the same as the 53-56 with the exception of the fender hole placement...fenders mount higher on the later years. I have a pair of sides and a tailgate that I would let go for $200...shipping/crating would be pricey though.
I would suggest you check what a replacement bed from Mack or another manufacturer would cost. Then figure at between 50-70% of that cost. Leave out shipping and taxes and the bed wood. Also check the dreaded eBay and then discount the price from there. The other members will chime in and give their perspectives. It will also depend on the condition of the bed. Ignore the condition of the wood and the bed strips and concentrate on the amount of rust in the metal.
A new, made in the USA, MAR-K metal parts kit for the 57-60 Ford is $1265.25. This includes bed sides, front bed panel, 3 cross sills, rear sill, bed wood sill, tailgate, chains, hinges and hardware, all in steel. Does not include wood bed kit for the floor.
Bed parts are basically the same from 53-60 except for the bed sides on the 57-60 which are different from 53-56 bed sides.
Hope that helps.
how cool it is to see sponsors answering the questions . i am much more apt to buy from someone who associates with us , and the price info was good as i'm debating on whether to cut my long bed or buy a new one .
Used bed, two sides and front $100. If they need much body work it can cost more than new parts. Fronts usualy have to be replaced because the metal is stretch and tail gates are shot or cost more than the whole bed. Lots of folks don't want to bother fixing up used beds.
Just to let you know, those prices are for the short bed sides. We don't make any Ford long bed sides at this time, and I don't know of anyone right now who does.

We're very glad to have you on our board! We have lots of bed questions that pop up frequently, the experience and knowledge of Mar-K will be benificial to all.
Don't cut that 8 foot bed!! They are hard to come by. If you have the whole bed, you could probably sellit to an 8 footer who needs one. Just FYI the 8 foot bed is taller and wider as well as longer. That means the tail gate and the front panel are taller and wider. also the bed rails and rear sill are wider. I ended up buying a near whole truck just for the bed because the PO cut mine Knowing what I know now, I would really think twice before cutting an 8 foot bed.
Thanks for all the great input guys. And a BIG thanks out to MAR-Ktech. It is really nice to see a sponcer chiming in and talking with us.

And a question for MAR-K do you guys have a showroom in OKC??? can we stop in and pick up parts??
I hate to do a blatant plug, but since you asked!
Yes we have a showroom. Although really, we are a manufacturing facility. Our showroom is small with one bed put together inside. Most people come expecting a great big showroom. We put most of our efforts into making the parts and have two large buildings for that. You can see a little of the place at this link: http://www.mar-k.com/plant_tour.html
However, you are welcome to come and pick up parts there anytime. We ask that you call first so we can have the parts pulled and available when you get here. If you want to SEE the parts first, that's OK too. We pull parts for people to look at all the time. Most people like what they see and buy it!
Thanks for letting us be a part of the community! It's been great seeing all the posts.

fowl 1 yep i know if you were talkin' to me , that the 8 footer is wider and bigger . it looks proportionately better than the regular 1/2 ton bed and as i keep saying im on a budget ., so i use what i have . my 55 was a one ton prior to now as such we have the 8 foot bed . i'd trade it maybe for a 1/2 ton shorty if someone in my area was interested and they were in equivalent shape .
