Platinum vs Lariat

Platinum vs Lariat
Two trucks loaded similar, 2014 Platinum and a 2015 Lariat. Lariat missing garage door opener but has everything else Platinum has by adding options. Also Lariat had cargo extender, spray in bed liner, mud flaps and skid plates, cab lights and upfitter switches, wheel well liners.
Both F250 4x4, same 6.2 motor, locking 3.73, crew cab, color, bed length and 20 inch rims. Plat nicer rims and black bumpers, but Lariat had nice all black tailgate and door handles.
Lariat still cheaper by $400 and one year newer by sticker 56,200 vs 56,670.
Now incentives will make the 2014 Platinum about $900 cheaper, but is $900 worth less truck and year older model?
Dated 2-28-14 on sticker for 2014, 3-37-14 on 2015. SO built month apart but two different model years...
Platinum being step up, but actually less offered once Lariat is optioned up. All navigation, leather, heated seats, moon roof in both.

I've recently gone through a handful of '11 Lariat 150s that were scattered across the islands and recently picked up a '14 Platinum 150. While my current Superduty is a '14 King Ranch I can say that between the softer leather, wood steering wheel, and a few other minor but noticeable differences that IMO I prefer the Platinum over the Lariats I have/have had in the lighter duty trucks. I can say I am indifferent about the tailgate except when water collects around the blue oval and drips down the silver tailgate. Minor point to always have to touch up when drying the truck as that little streak really shows when it dries.
