Pertronix for 223 Six

Is there anyone that has converted to the Pertonix electronic ignition on their 223 I-6 with a 6 volt positive ground? If so, any improvements? Thanks. Steve

I put Pertronix in a 300 six and a 352 FE V8. They both ran the same afterward. I just run points in my 215.

IMO the biggest benefit is that you don't need to find quality 6v condensers and points.

I didn't think that a 6-volt positive ground system was available? I had sent an e-mail to Pertronix a couple years ago and they said they only had 12V set-ups.

48ATOY, do you have a kit part number you used?

Have had a Pertronix ignition and coil in my 215 6v pos grd for two years now. No issues. Better response.

I called and talked with a rep from Pertronics, and he told what to use. Put it in my 226, and I agree that it seems to respond better, starts easier also.

Pertronix 1266P6
I think last year was the first year for it

also the vaccum advance was replaced and that helped
with a "D" shaped rotor
they work because you reverse the coil polarity just like a
neg ground
