Not OP, but maybe I can help.
I used a OE fuel pump and tank from a 90's truck. High pressure fuel can push a long way! If your having problems with vapour lock, and are trying this setup then mount the Fuel regulator close to the carb away from heat sources. I used a Holly 12-803BP By-Pass Regulator when I was transitioning from carb to efi. The Holley 12-803BP looks the same as the regulator in a photo above.
As for wiring the fuel pumps, I used a couple of relays. One was switching front/rear tanks (Dual tanks), and the other was to turn on fused battery power on/off when the ignition was switched on and on start. One snafu was that I had to use two wires to keep the relay switched on. I used the plug going to the Ford Duraspark ICM module. And Diodes and a relay... and complicated things. :L Anyway, here's the post I made: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post15487092

Fuel gauge back!
Hello, first off I like what you did! I just wanted to know what you did to get your fuel gauge back? I have a 85 f250 that the original Owner had electric pumps in tanks installed for a 460. I want to remove them and insatll just a sending unit and follow a similar set up to yours.
Also did I you get a different relay with more connections to accommodate for the additional wiring?

Parts list
Hey there fmc400 I was wondering if you had a legit parts list? I have an ‘81 4.9 300 that I’m doing this conversion on (pretty much a direct copy). I have the pump and the Hobbs switch, but as far as the relay and the other fittings, I don’t really know what to get. If you could email me the list that would be perfect! Thanks again! Happy Fording!

Here is a switch, from what I can tell it just runs the power wire thru it and breaks connection when crashed.

It's been a while since this thread was active but am hoiping someone here can let me know if this version of a fuel pump controller would work just as good as the oil pressure switch:

Amazon.com: Revolution Electronics Electric Fuel Pump Controller. Primes the pump on key-on and turns the pump off if the engine stops. : Automotive

The link you show to the one on Amazon I did look at as well but from what I understand it has to also be hooked up to a tachometer? You might want to double check that. If so and you don’t have a tach….probably a deal breaker on that set up.

My set up is pretty similar to the original ops set but mine is on a 460 engine.
