Milwaukie M18 High Torque 1/2" impact wrench

Recently i bought a Milwaukie M18, 18 volt "high Torque" 1/2" drive impact wrench. I own a bunch of M12 tools, and are really happy. I wanted something with more power, and there were some deals available on the M18 line. a month back Home Depot had a combo with an extra capacity 18V Li-ion battery and a charger for $79, so i bought 2 and the impact wrench. since then, ive bought a 1/2" drill/Hackzall/ 2 compact battery kit, and a 1/4" hex impact driver. Today, i decided to switch out tires and wheels on my 73 F250. Well, i took the impact wrench, a 13/16" socket and grabbed ONE of the compact batteries.........four sets of lug nuts off, four sets on, i never used my star wrench, did it all with this impact wrench on ONE battery. I honestly didnt expect one of the compact batteries to do more than half the job, the extra capacity batteries ought to be fantastic.......with this kinda power and running time, my corded tools may just sit in the garage

Sounds like a tool that will make it into the emergency truck tool box to me.

I also have a lot of M12 stuff----it just can't be beat if only for battery life!

I'm contemplating biting the bullet for an M18 caulking gun---my older 12 & 14 volt stuff is being slowly obsoleted because parts are not longer available for them.

If I go the M18 route I'll add the grease gun and probably the impact as well---have to jump in with both feet switching any part of the cordless fleet.

I have several M12 units & 10 batteries. I will get a M18 impact after reading this post. I have a 120 corded unit but I sure would like one in the truck for flats. My F250 is tough to change a tire on.

Thanks for the review. Milwaukee stuff is great, they are unfortunately Chinese made now, but power tools that aren't are extremely expensive and mostly Chinese components anyways. Milwaukee did manage to hang on to most of their quality though-

Agree 100%! I HATE Milwaukee has done this and have told them in those words before. Sad fact is without spending over $1,000 for just a few tools USA made is tough to find at a competitive price.

Metabo makes great stuff but not enough tools to cover what I need.

Good topic for discussion though!

Yeah, but since China now have their ahnds on it, they will go downhill now.
