56 Frame question...Weld or Not weld?

I have started on my truck with the rear suspension first. It has the Total Cost Involed flip/dropped spring kit.
Basically remove all the old stuff and bolt in the new.
My question is .... Should I stitch weld the brackets on the flat surfaces in ADDITION to the bolt on configuration?
Has anybody done this?
Pros/cons...discussion?
Please give me some insight.....
I did also install the mid fifty "C" notch and frame boxing kit.

Thanks in advance for your time to reply.

Don

Not sure what you want to weld? Pictures would help a lot.

top and side of hanger brackets

Put maybe an inch or two weld on the top and side of the new hangers.

If it is an engineered component that was meant to be bolted in place then that should be sufficient .

Don, I did exactly what you're asking. Once I was happy with the install, I stitched the brackets to the frame. Belt and suspenders.

The original brackets weren't welded, I see no reason to weld an engineered part designed to replace the original, in the original manner. My 2c.

Welding is just asking for a crack to start, even the very best weld alters the metallurgy of the area and induces stresses that weren't there before.
