I'm looking for a bolt on IFS for my 55 f100. I really don't want to cut my truck up. I thought I read of a company that had a bolt on IFS kit. Anybody have any suggestions.
I don't think you are going to find a truly bolt in IFS, if you buy the cross member you still need to weld it in place. You can get a sub frame and bolt it in but you still need to weld it for stability and strength. If you find one let me know
There is a place called Chassis Tech which makes a easy install clip. It uses the front bolts of your front cab mounts, you do have to cut your frame but you run a bead of weld around where you cut it for strength. It gives you all of your stock location for bumper, and radiator. You use GM components for your suspension. It will also give you about a 5 inch drop. This is what I will use for my 53'.

Gibbons comes the closest and they use a set of Volare type components. I probably have one of their brochures if you'd like me to scan it. Or do an internet search on Gibbons Fibreglass or Engineering out of Iowa.
I'm coming down close to the end on the installation of a TCI Mustang II front crossmember. It does not require cutting any of the frame. I've found it to not be a hard job, just a little time consuming.
The steps I've followed so far are:
Using a torch (Henrob), I cut the ends of the rivets holding the front suspension brackets to the frame.
Removed the front suspension.
Welded up the unneeded holes and ground the welds.
Next Steps:
I'm now getting ready to weld the boxing plates to the inside of the frame and then I'll weld the crossmember to the boxing plates. Note that I'm moving the front wheel centerline 1 1/4" forward to properly space it in the wheel opening.
The next step is to weld the spring towers in place.
Install the tubular A-Arms (one could use stock if desired).
Pictures of my progress are found on my website. I also know of a link to a set of sequential pictures where a fellow installed a crossmember kit in one weekend. They're pretty informative. Write me if you want the link.

I have installed a 1986 Jaguar XJ6 front member in my 1950 F1, was a very easy swap and I did not need to cut the frame at all. Took 1/2 day to install. Very easy. Can email you an article that appeared in Custom Car here in the U.K.
