Airbox search question

I just went through this issue yesterday for my 300. The SD EFI trucks have one style of box with two mounts in the middle and four screws holding the lid and the MAF trucks have another style with three mounting screws and clips for the lid.
The mounting bracket, lower box and upper box all go together. The hoses between the throttle body and the upper filter box are engine and SD/MAF dependent but it probably doesn't take much effort to interchange the v8 hoses. There's also a bunch of variants of the crankcase breather hose setup.
The bracket for the MAF boxes is apparently much revised as it has drainage holes instead of foam that works like a sponge and they added another screw to the washer reservoir after about a decade of the other one rusting off.
The 300 and 460 have a different snorkel than the 302 and 351 but it can interchange. The 300/460 snorkel is more desirable as it allegedly flows better but if you routinely sink your truck in water the 302/351 snorkel might have its merits.
There's probably a bunch of subtle differences having to do with the filter-throttle body hoses, MAF sensor and stuff like that that I don't know about but most JYs will probably let you swap it if you get some oddball intake that doesn't fit.
IIRC, your 460 never came with MAF so yank the setup from any truck that doesn't have a MAF sensor (big and obvious by the upper filter box).
The bracket to the front support is 7/16 at the top, 10mm or 3/8 at the bottom, 8mm on the fender inside, and the washer reservoir is 7/16. IMO it's easiest to disconnect the pump harness by mashing the rubber plug end with pliers and unplugging it as it deforms.
I strongly suggest you to bring your 8mm socket and make sure whatever JY box you get opens and closes without stripping the plastic splines that anchor the bottom of the screws.

Thanks for the info gantonellis! I was able to find a complete air box and front duct with hardware at a local wrecking yard about 3 miles from my house so I should be good for the air box setup.
I also found a stock spare tire carrier online but I'm wondering if they are worth buying? I've heard horror stories on how they rust out and can be a pia to remove if they do. Has anyone used the winch type from a later model truck with much success?
