Cab lights install

I've been thinking anout installing some orange cab lights on the top of my 86 f150 stepside. What is the best way to to that. I know how to run wires, but idk how to go about the actual install of the lights. I want it to look good. Not like some drunk hillbilly just screwed them onto the top.

If it were me I wouold find one in the junk yard that had them, and get them there along with the wiring for them. Once you have them removed you can trace a pattern on some drafting paper and transfer that to your truck. This way you will know what size holes you need and where to put them.

Here is a pretty good HOWTO by Diesel_Brad that he posted in 87-96 not real long ago:

Archer, if you change your mind and elect to go the drunken hillbilly route, I did a short write up a few months ago that outlines that method. Here is a link

The helpful & cool thing to do is provide a link when you offer information like that, otherwise you're asking a Newbie to try and find it on his own.

Said Newbie will likely be unsuccessful unless he's got some experience in these VB forums and knows how to find things......

Thanks for all the help guys. And actually the drunken hillbilly way is much easier for me to follow lol no disrespect intended at all. I get home in a few weeks from this damn deployment and I will probably use this method when I get back.
