PCMs Interchangeable?

I sent my PCM (F7TF-12A650-RC) off to get rebuilt and they told me the processor was fried so I need to get a whole new one. The problem is that I have been told my a few people that they are so rare and they cant find one anywhere. I have a a F7TF-12A650-RH. is it possible that it will work in my truck? Any help will be greatly appreciated on where to find an RC or how to decode the part number, anything

Thank you

There is a 3 letter and 1 number code on it such as TDE1, NAW4, ALF4, SOD4. Those will be ALOT more helpful, but as long as the PCM came from the same style truck with the same trans, it will work fine, UNLESS you have a California emissions truck, then you will have to find another Cali PCM.

Thank you very much! It sounds like they are interchangeable on the 49 state smog ones so I am hoping that they are interchangeable within CA smog as well.

Thank you again!

All PCM repair vendors are not created equal. I've had good luck with Python Injection.

There is another good outfit I'll have to dig up and post later.

Thanks for the help. If the other PCM doesn't work I will try Python Injection.

Auto Module Source is the other outfit. I have no personal experience with them but they are recommended but expensive. Evidently they have parts sources many others don't.

You have a MME6 to replace your "fried" MME2?

Do it. It will work just fine.

About the MME6 and MME2, I do not know that much about the circut board itself i just had it sent off and they told me it was fried and they couldnt do anything for me so I went to plan B. The replacement PCM is an RU instead of an RC. I am hoping that will work fine. Also, my old one had a 50hp Superchip in it for about 14 years.. Will that be ok to plug back into the new one? Or could that have been the problem in the first place?

F7TF-RU does not exist.

F7TF-RH DOES. Is that what you have available? If so, then yes it will work in your truck but the chip will not. It's technical, but a Superchips gold chip for an MME2 will not work in an MME6.
