You can put those springs on. You'll need basically the same size U bolts as the V code springs are not that much thicker. Just get ones that would be spec'd for the truck you're removing them from. You may need new shocks due to the added height. Someone will chime in to verify if, which and how.

You will also need blocks, add-a-leaf, or a new spring pack for the rear of your truck to lift the rear the same amount as the front.

As mentioned in the post above you can use the stock Excursion u-bolts.

AXLE TO SPRING U BOLT F81Z-5705-ZA

For the rear b-codes you need to decide if you are going to use moded b-codes and which block size you are going to use.

I added the moded b-codes with the stock rear block so I purchased the following u-bolts for the rear.

N811667-S436 U-Bolt - M16-2.0x108/320

^^ x2

Note that the front stock U-bolts are semi-round. Get new U-bolt nuts too.

If you modify the B's, you'll also need a new center leaf-spring bolt. I got mine from NAPA. The original is probably metric (12MM, I think), but I used a 3/8" x 4", Grade 8. Also use the stock spacers in the modified B spring.

This thread helped me the most:

Good luck.

Do not use a stock Excursion front spring. You want at a minimum the V-code springs for the front.

For the rear you should do the b-code mod. Together they will give your X a nice stance.

What size tire are you planning on running (maybe in the future)?

Its up to you. If I were spending money on it, I would upgrade to a spring thats designed to take the weight our truck has. However, if you're looking for used X springs, there is no shortage of guys around here who have a set for you

Make sure you know a little about the donor truck. Year, model, what it was used for, and what wrecked it. You dont wanna pick up springs off a 01 F550 wrecker that was in a head on collision type deal. Otherwise, I think its a pretty decent deal as long as the truck doesnt have 200K + miles
