The radiator hoses leak at the joint where they both go into the water pump. On the front of the block. The new hoses have a white end on them and the white end has two O rings inside. The ones that fail are black and have only one O ring. Best to go ahead and change them both. It is a possible DIY job if you have some experience working in tight places. Hardest part is the motor end of the bottom hose. You must also be familar with the clips that hold the hoses on. There are some utube entries on it if you can find them.

Mine is a job 1. Noticed about 3k miles ago I had a small leak at the bottom.

The leak is intermittent. When it does leak it is about a table spoon worth. Riding it out for now since I am out of warranty and deleted about a year ago.

Has anyone thought about repairing the radiator like the old days rather than replace. The radiator from ford is like $800

Be sure it is the radiator, could well be the hoses. My job 1 leaked so slightly that I couldn't find it for months. I mean like 4 ounces added to the tank every 10,000 miles or so. When it finally revealed it was so light I couldn't track it. I got a loaner pressure cap from Oreillys and was able to track it under pressure. Changed both hoses and so far so good. BTW, the 1st dealer wanted $750 to change the hoses, I shopped it and another dealer did it for under $500. Not a great price but better than 750. What you absolutely positively don't want to do is let the coolant get low enough to get air into the system so always keep an eye on it.

Do any of you still have the bad ones that you have had replaced? I would gladly pay for one, or two, as well as shipping and for your time.
I tossed mine in the trash once I replaced them using NAPA's OEM white-ended replacement hose. After seeing the TSB stating if you have a failed hose, or signs thereof, the radiator replacement falls under the 100k warranty, I called my local dealership. My service guy there told me to just bring him my old hose and he would get the radiator replaced under the TSB using pics of the hose i replaced. So, I need a bad hose to take in w the truck since I trashed mine like a moron.

thanks in advance,
ryan
