4r100 from 00 gaser to 95 7.3 swap

I have a 00 4r100 trans from a 5.4L truck. I have a 95 f250 with a 7.3 and a blown trans. Will my 4r100 work? I dont think I will not be able to use all the bellhousing bolts. Will the electrics work and will it shift is all I was wondering? Has anyone tried?

The 4R100 comes with more than one bolt pattern? I had a stock 4R100 on my '00 7.3L. I can say the 4R100 worked on mine, but it needed modifying for longevity. I replaced my dead one with the HD4R100.

The 4R100 was made with two different bolt patterns. There was the modular engine (gas) pattern and the 7.3L diesel pattern. The two are NOT interchangeable. You won't be able to bolt a gas trans to a diesel engine.

ciial - It's unanimous. The people who actually know what they are talking about (as opposed to me) say it can't be done.

and then there are the people that will swear on a stack of bibles they saw it done by their brothers boyfriends sisters cousins aunts 3 year old nephew who now has 300,000,000 miles on the conversion.
all you have to do is look on youtube for the 10 second video showing the redrilled holes.
it don't show you how to do it, or what the measurements are, or even what size drill to use. but it is so simple that a 3 year old can do it.

Can you modify the bell housing to make it work, drilling new holes to match block, an adding 1/4 or 3/8 to go around bell housing an over the new boolts holes, with new longer bolts going threw plate an bell housing ?
