2007 F-150 5.4L Coils going out?

My truck has been jolting lately around 40-50mph. I have done some research, and I believe its one of the coils going out or is out. The problem is I can't get it to throw the ck engine light. So it's making it hard to determine which coil is actually bad. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I honestly dont want to spend the money replacing every coil at this point. Thanks for any help.

It's a 2007 F-150 Crew 4X4.

Mine was doing the same thing....seemed to do it when the rpms were low< 1400 rpms. I thought possible water in the gas or bad coil going. No codes to check. Well at 80,000 figured i would start with the plugs. Been symtom free since the plug change.

Mine was doing pretty much the same thing ('07 F150 5.4). With 95,000 on it I just bit the bullet and changed the plugs and all eight coils. It hasn't missed a beat since.

How many miles on it? I am betting on plugs based on my experience.

I have a 07 f150 FX4 5.4 Triton Crew Cab 165 k
I had the same issue. So far I have changed each plug, no change, still idled down a tad when sitting then when driving up hill from 40 to 50 mph , it would jolt like the tranny was messing up. MY neighbor is a car expert, and he told me it is a coil, one is is getting worn, it will not trigger the check light , but makes a misfire, so I ordered 8 coils . I also notice a few connectors are missing the clips so I have also ordered 8 new connectors and 16 butt conntecors to do it right, He told me it will fix the problem, 99%
I will know by Friday when all the parts come in. I got all 8 cils for $46 and all connectors for 29 on line

Spark plugs would be the first place I'd look on an '07. It could also be the boots for the coil to plug connection. If it does it more on damp days, I would be inclined to think coil(s).

Beware of cheap coils. The old saying.....you get what you pay for!!!! Proper coil will cost you close to $50.00 each on line, IMHO.
