Hi guys,

Today I noticed my exhaust pipe broke at the top hump above the rearend.

What is my best bet to get it fixed?

1. Go to muffler shop and let them do it?
2. Try to buy a new tail pipe section?
3. Other (but not the dealership)?

Go to Summit Racing and I'm pretty sure you can buy the whole pipe cheap... Check it out...

 

Go to a muffler shop, it's pennies to weld new piece in.

 

Easy for you to say living in sunny South Florida. Up here in the Northeast, by the time they find good metal to weld a patch to you're most likely looking at the entire pipe.

 

Sounds like a really good time to go for duals! Mine started rotting on my superduty and the more patching I did the more other places it rotted. I think mine was around $400 to have it all bent at a muffler place, seems like Summit had cat back systems for around $250-$300

The Amazon deal looks good. I haven't checked out Summit yet.

I do want to replace the entire section. 10 years old and lost of salt in the winters here.

 

My exhaust hasn't broken yet, but it sure is extremely rusty and a matter of time.


I've been looking at both the dynomax section (seems like it's just the tailpipe section) and one of the gibson exhaust systems (also seems like just tailpipe section w/muffler).


Anyone have feedback on either system?

 

for under $200 bucks a muffler shop can fab up a custom 3inch tail pipe exhaust.


on another note..i do have my old tail pipe section i removed when i put in a summit muffler dumped before the rear axle. just pay for shipping and its urs. of course if it will be minus the muffler itself (sucker is heavy!)
