BROKEN SPARK PLUG, NEED ADVICE!

no 6 spark plug snapped at the engine block, the 5/8" nut part is in the wire from the distributor. It seems like most but not all of the rest of the plug blew out of the block when it snapped. How do I remove the rest of the plug without ruining the threading of the hole where the spark plug goes?
P.S. If you have never changed them CHANGE YOUR SPARK PLUGS NOW so this pain in the *** doesn't happen to you!
Thanks for any advice you might have!
Phil

Soak/then heat, then bang in a chisel, and then turn that with a wrench...be observant of the size needed, measure carefully so as to not damage the threads, don't go past the plug thread reach, measure another plug to be sure, you don't want pieces left in the chamber, or strike the piston (have that down) shape the chisel if necessary...if that fails, you will have to drill it out, and use a thread repair coil.

Thanks Slip Ford Man, I 'll try that. When you say soak I assume you mean the remnants of the old plug with Pb blaster or some other penetrating oil to loosen them up.

If I undersatand correctly, your plug broke and left the threads in the hole but the nut portion broke off?

Easy out will be your friend if . . Start soaking it in penetrating oil now.

@ Chris 72, exactly. I can feel a little bit of the metal spark pug casing protruding from the engine block. All of the porcelain and guts got blown out when the plug shattered. So the tool I do not have is called an "easy out"? can I pick one up at advanced auto or sears???? I'll check on line, thanks.
It would have to be the #8 plug, all the way in the back.

Just be careful to not side load an easy out, they are very hard and brittle, and if broken in the hole...this will be you ...

Plain jane. Dont take this the wrong way.

If you have never used an easy out, you are in over your head on this job. Take it to someone that is qualified
