I know its really common for our pumps to whine, however mine JUST started doing it. I first noticed it at 35+ mph in a straight line. Good sign its time to replace it?

 

Have you tried flushing the fluid and replacing it with some fresh PSF?

Also, maybe its the bearing assembley...Just a thought.....

 

i've seen more than one thread doing a e-van swap. might look into doing a search for that.

sure. mine whines at idle all the way to 70mph.

no cavitation though and i've never had a burp in the steering so no issue IMO.

but if your getting cavitation or unresponsive steering then you might want to change it, or look into the e-van swap.

course you may have a bad bearing. which would be another reason to change out our pump
