clorox in the tank
My 17 year old stepsons truck started running hot last week, and also skipping real bad. (its a chevy, so no wonder, i thought). its a z71 with a 5.3 liter, and they are known for having head issues. after we pull the heads to get them tested, he gets a call from a unknown # from a young guy who wont give a name, saying the reason the truck is running hot is because this person put bleach in his gas tank. Seems my stepson went on a couple dates witha girl who must have had a boyfriend. Cops around say there is nothing they can do, and this guy would not give his name. Any body know what affect clorox would have if added to the gas?

i can tell you with out even looking oxidation will happen, depending on how much the car was driven (if at all) will cause rust to get in fuel lines and other parts ruining the rubber, metal and other things it comes into contact with, also your tank will need to be dropped fuel purged and the tank will need to be replaced, you could look as little as just a new tank plus gas to fill it all the way to new tank plus gas to fill, fuel lines, injectors, plus other parts involved...so good luck on figureing out whats going on with it!!

Yea, not good ... Sad when men can not deal with issues face to face and one has to be well I think there is sensors here. Time for him to talk to said girl and find, said boy. I suggest a long walk in the woods. Being a logger I know the cops don't come. Being his dad you can't suggest this. However you could just let him read my suggestions ...

well, i think we got to it in time, his gas was low to start off so his real dad got the truck on a roll back(chevy, go figure!) and hes taking care of it, the head gaskets were rusted and shot though so go figure. got no way of knowing who cause the kids a little pimp, got more girlfriends than i do socks, could be anyone. hes cooled down a lil since this happend so maybe some good will come of it. meantime im installing security lights, and motion activated cameras.
