New distributor cap, rotor and plug wires, now it won't start!

Another chapter in the continuing saga of my 1986 F-150 with a 302.

My stepson replaced the distributor cap, the rotor and the spark plug wires. While he was doing this, I replaced the fuel filter.

Now the engine cranks, but it won't catch. Getting fuel, unable to see if there is a spark because I'm home alone today (and can't have someone else crank it.)

Plug wires seem to be in the right order and all connected. Have even put the old wires back on and it still won't catch.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Joe Collins

First off. Buy yourself a remote starter switch for doing things yourself.

Next, check again to see if the wires are set in the correct firing
order and they have been placed in the correct sopt on the distributor.
Did the boy replace ONE at a time or pull them all and do them by guess?
Remember on passenger side from front to back 1,2,3,4
On driver's side 5,6,7,8

Remember : The Rotor turns the same direction as the vacuum advance assembly is pointing.

What engine, to confirm firing order?

I'll pick up a remote starteer switch tonight.

He replaced the wires one-by-one.

The motor is a 302 V-8.

Thanks!

just my 2 cents but if i were you i would chk around the coil and see that there were no wires broken or disconnected accidentaly and one other suggestion chk the connector on youre tfi module on the side of the distributor

And how could I check for the distributor being off time?
