1949 F5 Pre-Restoration Pics?

Upon examining our recently purchased F5 most mechanical parts seem to work except for a broken front leaf spring, and a leaking radiator hose. It seems (so far) to run well. The transmission works. If it weren't for the body she would be pretty solid. That's my first assessment anyway. I'm sure the brakes, and front end need some work but it runs and drives so far.

However, I can't seem to post any pictures of it for some reason. I know it isn't entirely relevant to this forum, but if someone can help me I will post the pics. I have tried looking in the FAQ but I am not having much luck.

Thanks,
Ephrem

You guys are wearing robes!

No i am not poking fun! I have a full kilt i wear around for certain functions. Every time i put trousers back on i instantly miss the kilt. I would like to have a serious talk with who ever invented pants!

I will post the other pics tonight. I also agree about the pants comment. Habits are much more "comfortable" than pants.

Thank you for the help 51PanelMan

Straight jackets, however, are not so comfortable. :0

Ephrem,

I like the photos of your truck. My truck is the F3 stakebed and I also like the ones that are a little bigger like yours. Are the photos recent? If so, you've still got alot of snow! It is amazing to me that these trucks can bring people together from all walks of life. Pretty cool I think. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

I would really like to have an outfit like yours, You say it's called a habit? That would be great for golfing. I used to have a monks robe.

Rojak,

The pictures were taken on March 31st. We typically get about 250 inches of snow in a season. I will keep you posted but as the monastery's busy season (we run a bakery) picks up my time will be limited. Hopefully We will be able to make some progress.

Mervy 49,

In order to have an outfit like this you would have to become a monk, or have it custom tailored. I don't think you can find them in the store, lol. Monastic life is very different than most people think. I don't want to denigrate marriage in any way, but it is nice not having anyone to say something like "Your buying another old WHAT?!"

I'll keep you posted on progress,
Ephrem
