Rear axle ratio

Hi All,
Just bought a 2000 f250 and the axle space in the door jamb sticker is blank. I crawled under the truck and the tag reads as follows:
first line S 409 H
second line L 73 10 5 0F08
Truck is a PSD 4x4 w/6spd.

Since it's a F-250 PSD it only had the option of 3.73 gears, also you have a limited slip differential.
The 3 of what should read 3 L 73 is probably covered by the diff cover bolt. Oh and it's a 10.5" Sterling axle.

Hope this helps.

im not a genious... ok, let me repeat myself... i am not a genious... ok we got that out now...

i would sort of think that the S 409 h might refer to 4.10 gear ratio. i know what you are thinking- 409, and 4.10... 2 different numbers... but when i put 4.10 gears in my old truck, i had to buy the front and rear parts from different manufactures. one box said 4.09 the other said 4.11. my ordered a custom rear end for his camaro, he specifically said 3.90 gear, and it had 3.89 stamped on it..... so.... well maybe im crazy, i dont know

I'll second DCSpecial.

You have a 3.73 limited slip rear axle.

With the PSD motor, the SRW trucks with the 10.5" Sterling rear only could get 3.73 gears. Only option was if it got a limited slip or not.

4.10s were available on the DRW F-350 PSD.
