Does anyone have pics of a Vintage air install
And yes I have searched! I've read up on the systems and I decided to go with the Vintage Air system and then lilfe got in the way. Soooo, here we are 10 months later and I've started again. The mounting instruction are a little less than awesome and I hoped that some members would have taken some pictures of their install. so in other words HELP!

Ok, your profile says u have a 53.
I have one in my 55.. only there is nothing to see the way we did it.
one hanger mounts to the cowl vent lip, one hanger mounts to the front of the dash , and one hanger mounts thru the firewall right next to the hinge mount flange. (I can show u those 2 screws)..
the vent one is the PITA!...
getting the hoses thru is a matter of choice..
I used 2 dual bulkheads. pic below.
they are as high up as I could get them and still be able to connect hoses to them after the unit is installed.
I put the heater control in the passenger side kick panel,
and the trinary switch is right at the unit intake on top.
(out of sight, and not in the engine bay).
What more can I help with?
I used the electronic controls
we also used the dash extension, and a flar to completely hide the unit.. the flare is zip tied to the lower bulkhead fitting after the hose was installed. the second pic below shows after the dash extension and flare were mounted.

Here's what I'm currently doing, granted it's a 52 but should still apply: Built the tubing cage around it first, the 2 bolts on the firewall side have a tab off the frame to them and the other 2 bolt thru the tubing itself. (the other small holes were already in the tubing, scrap pieces)
Welded 5/16 nuts inside the tubing on the four corner mount holes
Then screwed in some Harley oil tank shock mounts on the corners and held it where I wanted it, marked the location and welded on a firewall bracket for one corner Thru the firewall on the other and you can see the other 2 in the pic.
Shock monted it just because it made an easy mount if the holes weren't exaclty lined up and to help road jarring from damaging it or it reverberating throughout the cab if it made any noise ever down the road.
Could have mounted it a bit higher but I wanted plenty room to run hoses without being really cramped, besides it'll have a dash extension panel of a few inches so not a lot will be seen.
Hope this helps

No problem, glad to share/help. I've got plenty of pics and can give you a better description of the install if you need, just gave the cliffsnotes version here.

Thanks everyone for the wealth of information. We got itmounted and it tucks up very nice and will almost be invisible when we put the dash extension on. Speaking of the dash extension....I have the oval chrome vents from Vintage Air and it seems like there is no way to get it mounted on the passenger side, under the glove box. Anyone with suggestions or pictures?

I did a kind of roundabout install, the only thing that is REALLY important is to be able to get the sensor tube into the core to the proper depth, mounting it up high can make this difficult. The outlet in the top center of the dash is directional for the upper vents, the lower vents fit into the lower dash tray. I also used the electronic controls, they go into the rectangular cutout in the floor console
