Thai Shop Turning Ranger Pickups Into Curvy Classics
These Ford Ranger pickups are essentially reverse restomods with vintage styling.
Reverse Restomod
While modern trucks like the Ford Ranger obviously have a lot more to offer in terms of performance, tech, and drivability when compared to more vintage machines, there are plenty of folks that don't exactly like the way they look. Some have long pined for new trucks sporting vintage styling, which is why the restomod has become so incredibly popular. However, in Thailand, a shop called Icon Cars is doing the opposite - transforming Ranger pickups into something that looks like it was built in the 1950s.

Big Departure
Icon is no stranger to modifying Ford Ranger pickups, as it has been doing precisely that for years. However, most of its creations aim to make the mid-sizer look more aggressive or even modern, meaning that this fat fender creation is a big departure from the norm.

Proper Throwback
This process is still in the developmental stage, but as we can see from these photos, it's coming along quite nicely. At the moment, Icon has already created some early F-Series fenders that somehow make the newer Ranger look like something built decades ago, and we imagine that the look will be even more dramatic once it's finished and painted.

Front to Back
This process involved creating an entirely new front fascia, including the hood and fenders. There's also an old F-Series style grille and round headlights, coupled with those fat fenders, built-in side steps, and chubby rear fenders that contain vintage-looking taillights as well, rounding out this styling package.

Loads of Work
From there, Icon also took the time and put in the effort to give the windshield a severe rake, which also adds to the overall look. This process certainly isn't an easy one, and there are plenty that might argue it isn't worth it - but for us, we'll just appreciate the work that went into making a newer Ranger look like an old F-100.
