1941 Ford COE Is the Ultimate Vintage Hauler
A few modern updates make this vintage COE even better.
Sweet Cab-Over
Cab-over engine trucks - or COEs, as they're typically called - have become incredibly popular among enthusiasts for a few good reasons. For starters, they look totally awesome, but COEs are also quite capable of hauling other vintage rides. This 1941 Ford COE certainly fits that bill, and one lucky bidder added it to their garage recently following its auction over at Bring a Trailer.

Heavily Modified
This large green machine is by no means stock, as the previous owner treated it to a complete makeover and loads of modifications prior to its sale. That includes the addition of a cool green hue and cream-colored stripes, as well as the one-ton Chevy frame that underpins it.

Exterior Updates
There's lots of chrome and diamond plating on the exterior as one would expect, along with side-mounted storage boxes for hauling extra cargo or gear. The COE rolls on a set of 16-inch chrome wheels wrapped with 225/60 Torque front and 225/75 Sunfull rear tires, while power front brakes help slow it all down.

Sea of Green
The green theme continues inside the cabin, where everything is covered in that particular shade, though white piping on the seats adds a nice contrast. Everything here is otherwise pretty simple and ultra-clean, with the microphone shift knob adding a cool little touch.

Newer Stuff
The seller did add a polished tilt steering column to the mix, along with Dolphin Gauges instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a variety of auxiliary gauges, and a tachometer that has been mounted underneath the dash.

Wrong Choice
As far as power goes, the seller had his fair share of Ford engines to choose from but instead went with a 454 cubic-inch big-block Chevy, which is a bit of a shame. Regardless, it's mated to a TH400 automatic gearbox and features a few upgrades including an Edelbrock intake and carb, as well as tubular headers.

Charming Hauler
The result of all this work is a truly cool vintage hauler that is equally capable of winning show trophies on its own or hauling another show car along for twice the fun. And that's precisely why the charming COE has become so popular in recent years.
