Ford packed more innovative features and tech in the new F-150 than you might expect.
Tech Powerhouse
The 2021 F-150 is an all-new pickup that ushers in the 14th generation of Ford's perennial best-selling pickup. And that means that it's packed with the latest and most innovative technology on the market. There's so much new content in the new F-150, in fact, that we thought it would be prudent to assemble it all here for your perusal.

Control Center
Perhaps the biggest story (literally) about the new F-150 is that giant 12-inch infotainment screen available on XLT and up trim. But even the base screen is an 8-inch unit, which is as big as the biggest outgoing 13th gen F-150 screen. It looks simply huge sitting in the middle of the dash, but exactly no one is complaining about a bigger screen. And that newly available, customizable digital instrument cluster is pretty to look at, too.

Connectivity
That pretty new screen is packed with plenty of connectivity options as well. Running Sync 4, which Ford says has twice the computing power of Sync 3, it also contains an embedded 4G LTE modem capable of providing Wi-Fi access for up to 10 devices. Other nifty features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, natural voice control and real-time mapping, and on-demand Sirius XM audio. Even better, the new F-150 supports over-the-air-updates, so things like maps and driver assistance features can be upgraded automatically at convenient times.

Office Space
Ford knows that a lot of F-150 owners use their trucks as mobile offices, and there are quite a few aftermarket parts that help mount laptops in the front cab area. So they went the extra mile and added a stowaway shifter and fold-out console lid to create a flat working surface as an option. And for those that need a quick nap, optional fold-flat seats are capable of providing a comfy place the sleep, too.

Hybrid Power
Ford's new PowerBoost hybrid option adds a 35-kilowatt electric motor to the F-150's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and 10-speed automatic transmission to create what Ford promises to be its most powerful and capable drivetrain combination on the new pickup. In fact, The Blue Oval is targeting an EPA-estimated range of around 700 miles on a single tank of gas and at least 12,000 pounds of available maximum towing, which is undoubtedly impressive.

Onboard Power
One of the coolest features on the new F-150, however, is its onboard power generator that Ford calls the Pro Power Onboard. Available with a 2.0, 2.4, or 7.2-kilowatt output, the system provides power for anything you can think of in a variety of areas, including the cabin and up to four 120-volt 20-amp outlets in the cargo bed. The 7.2 kW power option will include a 240-volt 30-amp outlet, and you can even charge tools and other devices while you're driving from site to site.

Driver Assist
Finally, it's worth noting that the 2021 F-150 has more driver-assist options than ever before. They're all part of the Ford Co-Pilot 360 2.0 system, which includes a total of ten new driver-assist functions including pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, a rearview camera with dynamic hitch assist, auto high-beam headlamps and auto on/off headlamps, Trailer Reverse Guidance, Pro Trailer Backup, and even a hands-free driving system for over 100,000 miles of U.S. and Canadian roads.
