PATS system distress
2011 E250 van with 4.6. System distress. Started at church "no crank no start". checked voltage, good. Bypassed starter with key on, START! Drive home, shut down and retry. Dead. retried bypass start, zip. But now all of a sudden flashing security lights from the PATS. I do not have chipped keys. Most models do I guess but I read many fleets ordered w/o PATS. I have tried 6-10 different methods out there to sort of reprogram or clear the fault. Zippo. A friend, old key man tried his scanner, no good. Made me extra keys though! I read that one cannot bypass the system though because it is permanently in the software of the BCM or the PCM, otherwise I would bypass it and go on. I checked every fuse, didn't expect much and didn't get much either. Checked all relays, good. I really don't have much money but this is my work van. Any old pros out there with ideas? Where can I get a diagram of the PATS system. Anyone got one out of a chiltons or Haynes?

PATS is located in the IPC (cluster). Here is a link to the service manual. I navigated to the DTC chart. You need a scan tool like Forscan to read DTCs. Forscan can also do Parameter Reset. But be warned, PATS has stumped many DIY users and sometimes it takes a lot of research to learn how to fix it. I am no expert....just have seen a lot of posts regarding PATS.
