Won't Start

I have a 1999 F150 4.6
I drove to the store and when I came out it would not start. It turns over fine but will not start. I checked the valve stem located on the fuel line for pressure. No pressure. Fuses are ok. Will a fuel pump go out with out any warning? Is it in the tank and what is the best way to approach this?

Thanks for any help

Now now, things arn't that simple.
Put a gauge on the port so you see what's there when your cranking otherwise you don't know.
There needs to be between 35 and 40 psi built up in the rails.
Do you have the PATS system that uses a chiped key?
Maybe that system is causing the no start.
Try your second key.
Good luck.

PATS = Passive Anti-Theft System. It uses a special chipped key, and has a transponder in the column to read the key. No match, no start. It was not in the 1997 pickups like mine, but our 2010 Escape has it.
