I know, first time poster, long time lurker,, opening up with a problem……
Bought a used 2023 F250 7.3 to replace my 2012 F250 6.2 which was an outstanding workhorse. The dealership has been less than stellar and I’ve found some things that had to be repaired right away paid for them. Did buy their extended warranty even though I was plenty skeptical. Bought the truck a long way from home after a long search all over.
Problem at hand, AC just quit and I guess I didn’t search enough forums to notice the compressor problems people have had. 46,000 miles and it’s blowing hot air after abruptly failing to work in 95 degrees. Wondering if the horror stories about wait times and diagnosing problems have been fixed since I’m seeing most of those threads are a little dated. I’ve got a good dealer locally but I’m waiting to see what kind of fight I have with the selling dealer. Thanks for any advice or input.
Seems most service centers are a crapshoot these days. I have a 2025 with a rear blis tail light full of water. Made appointment. Took it in. They took pictures , logged vin and mileage blah blah. Waited 2 weeks and contacted them again. Their reply was they would email the warranty clerk and check. That was 2 weeks ago and silence. This is the dealer where I bought my truck new. I can see in my situation the new car warranty isnt worth crap if you cant get warranty work done.
Yeah, I’ve been very happy with my Fords over the years but this one, I know I bought used, but just seems lots of gadgets and tech that isn’t well thought out or as reliable as it should. My other 250 was great, this one in the month I’ve owned it has been one thing after another. Reminded me of my first issue with your taillight, smelled something electrical burning, rear of cab. Noticed my cargo light was out. Noticed water stains on the rear headliner. Third brake light assembly leaking water and the led shorted out. The trailer module is ridiculous, nothing but faults even after updates and I tow almost everyday. The only thing redeeming is we had another brand where I used to work and their towing module was a nightmare too. I rely on my truck and should be able to get in it to work without fault codes, worrying about the air, leaks…..that tail light situation is ridiculous. I finally found a dealership who would answer the phone and have a decent handle on getting things fixed and out but that was a minor miracle. Shouldn’t be like this.
Hate to jump on a forum and provide nothing but problems, think I needed to see the consensus and vent a little. Guess I’ll try out this aftermarket warranty tomorrow.
