The passenger side air does not work all the time. It actaully blows neutral or hot air when the driver's side is cooling. I have tried without "auto" and it still does not work properly.
It is 2010 and I just had it at the dealer Friday but forgot to tell them about it. It did it two weekends ago and then earlier today. It did not do it when I started it a few minutes ago. Why the urgency on taking it to the dealer? It takes 1/2 my day for that process and would like to wait a while.
oh, no urgency to take it to the dealer, but if i had a warranty i wouldn't waste my precious time and money diagnosing and fixing parts that they should fix for me for free.
Why does it take a 1/2 day? Just drop it off in the morning and ask for the loaner... pick it up in the evening after work.
I have the same problem on my 09 Lariat F550. When the fan goes down low, (near the set temp I suppose) the pass. side starts blowing warm air. This happens whether it is on single or dual zone mode. I have even tried setting the pass side to 60, and the driver's side to 70. It does the same thing. I'll be taking mine in to the dealer in the next 2K miles, as my 36K warranty will be up in 4K miles. My drivers side seat heater doesn't work either. The only other issue I had with this truck is a sticking driver's door handle that was fixed at about 2K miles.
just had my 08 into the dealer for warm a/c last week. after 6 hours, no leak found, they just added some r-134a, charged me $135 and said sorry for the trouble. i've been farted on with cooler air than this thing puts out. unfortunately, i am way out of warranty so not sure on where to go next.
The problem we're having is the drivers side blows cold, and the pass side blows warm. I assume this would only occur on the lariat, Harley, etc. trucks with the automatic A/C.
I've had the same problem on and off. Driver's side cold, passenger hot (unless you set it to 65 degrees on that side). The dealer told me that it is the auto A/C head unit. They see it enough to know what I was describing. I was told that the head unit will get a hairline crack in it and then a vacuum leak will cause the problem. You can actually hear the vacuum leak if you listen carefully.
Since my truck is out of warranty, I'll wait until it does it again before I mess with it. I may pull out the head unit and coat the back of it with RTV and see if it stops. If not, I'll check with our parts guy sponsor and buy a new one.
Weyland,
My 08 had a problem when it was brand new with the A/C not cooling, then it just gave out and ruined the compressor. The dealer replaced it, recharged the system and it was nice and cold for a few days, then got weak. Two moths later I was back. This time they recharged the system and put dye in it. A day later the found a small pin hole leak in the evaporator. They replaced that, then vacuumed and recharged the system. 67k miles later my A/C will still freeze me out of the truck when it's 105 outside. I never have to set the temp lower than 68 and I never have to put it on max/recirc. If I did I would need a jacket!

Man that sounds like a great problem to have. After it was recharged a couple weeks ago, the tech claimed that it had a subcool temp of 39 degrees. Not sure what this guy was measuring but it damn sure wasn't 39 fahrenheit! I'll ask for dye next time, thanks.

He was probably measuring the temp at the vent. I had an S10 once that blew 14 degrees out the vent, and 2 days later it was warm.
