Im new to this website thing and unfortunately dont know anything about the mechanics of vehicles, but im only 16 so I guess I have some time to learn. Anyways I have a 2001 f250 superduty 7.3L diesel and my air conditioner just randomly started blowing HOT south texas air. I tried to recharge it with refrigerant but the guage said that it was over charged as soon as I plugged it into the low side port. What is wrong???
Thanks
P.S.- Please keep in mind that im a fat kid living in south texas with NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!! Please help!!! Lol
There are several things that could cause the AC not to work. My guess is there is an electrical problem causing the AC compressor not to kick on. I want to say there is a low side pressure switch that is known to cause problems. I'm headed off to catch some here in a bit or I would search around a bit for you. You might search the 94.5 - 1997 7.3L form, I know I read about a relay or switch that caused problems. A volt/ohm meter is a good tool to have and a 12v test light will tell you a lot.
I have a 2001 f250 7.3L Turbo with an edge chip. Recently i noticed that my pulley on the front of my ac compressor had crapped out. I changed the whole compressor which wasnt hard, but now that it is back together it wont start. I did not recharge my system wondering if that could be the problem? My chip is throwing the famous P1211 code? I thought that if you had a chipp that was a pretty common code? any ideas would be awesome
