Some months ago, while returning home from some museum work, the flattie in my truck decided to give up the ghost. Rounding the corner close to my neighborhood (thankfully not further away) the crankshaft split in half. As such, I'm in search of a replacement 239/8BA style flathead V8 block or known good(?) running/runnable engine.
I've been assembling an experimental intake set up of sorts that has a vacuum governed carb similar to what was on the Mercury flathead engines, that I'm hoping to install in an effort to potentially keep this from happening again.
Yeps. I'm gonna try to get the motor and such pulled soon since I've finally got my old daily back on the road (53 Ford Customline). When I can get the time, and weather cooperates, I'll try to get some pics of the damage.
