Fuel pressure regulator

I put mine very last in the fuel supply line to the carburetor, even the filter is ahead of the Holley 12-803 FPR. After the FPR is the carburetor.
For a Holley, I set it at 6.5 psi using a gauge. Holley sets carburetors up using 6.5 @ sea level. For an Edelbrock, I'll set it at 5.5 psi.

I like to keep my regulater away from the engine. If the diaphram ruptures it will leak out the vent hole. Not good! I even went so far as to tap the regulator vent hole and install a mini barb fitting (from model airplane supply) and a hose to vent it out below the engine.

I put in a smaller washer reservoir - I think a 69-70 Mustang reservoir which is about half of the width, but the same height and mounting locations of the stock 77 reservoir. Then I put my fuel pressure regulator in the space that once occupied the full-sized reservoir closer to the grille side. It keeps it off of the engine and pretty much as close to the carb as possible.
