... etc ... place for my fuel pressure regulator ?
I put mine very last in the fuel supply line to the carburetor, even the filter is ahead of the Holley 12-803 FPR. After the FPR is the carburetor.
For a Holley, I set it at 6.5 psi using a gauge. Holley sets carburetors up using 6.5 @ sea level. For an Edelbrock, I'll set it at 5.5 psi.
I would want to keep the fuel lines a short as I could so they have less to pick up heat.
I may have to add one to a non-Ford motor if this 2nd new fuel pump puts out to much psi like the 1st one did
I bought a Summit FPR that is a knock off of the Holley FPR.

I like to keep my regulater away from the engine. If the diaphram ruptures it will leak out the vent hole. Not good! I even went so far as to tap the regulator vent hole and install a mini barb fitting (from model airplane supply) and a hose to vent it out below the engine.

Mine has no vent hole. If the diaphragm ruptures, it just sends full fuel pump pressure on to the carburetor. Good chance I'll never know if using the Holley carb still .... unless I check it.
i put mine on the driver's side fender. idk if there's a better place, but i see them on the firewall a lot. i didn't do that because it would be tough to reach and i'd need to run a lot more fuel hose.
I put in a smaller washer reservoir - I think a 69-70 Mustang reservoir which is about half of the width, but the same height and mounting locations of the stock 77 reservoir. Then I put my fuel pressure regulator in the space that once occupied the full-sized reservoir closer to the grille side. It keeps it off of the engine and pretty much as close to the carb as possible.
