Weird Noise From Under The Truck
Hello All,
I have a 2004 350 Lariat that is making an odd noise. I don't drive this truck much, I had it out for a drive yesterday to keep the batteries charged and I noticed a noise I couldn't identify. It sounds like small rocks coming out of the tire tread and hitting the fenders metal. I checked the tires-no rocks. Looked underneath the truck, and I could find anything that would make a sound like that. It sound like it's coming from the back of the truck, but I'm not totally sure about that since it comes and goes.
If someone has any ideas about this, please let me know.
Thanks, John

The driveshaft was rebuilt a couple of years ago, but I'll check on the tightness of the u-joints. I'm wondering if something has come loose in the emergency brake assembly, and is bouncing around in the drum part of the rotor. Of all the vehicles I've owned, I've never heard a noise like this.
