For those not following quite so closely, Stewart_H posted the link below with detailed information concerning the front springs.

Update on new front X code springs, they raised truck 1-1/8",the ride seems to be as good or better than old V codes,it seems to not wander as bad on less than perfect roads, that could be due to the new spring bushings ?,time for alighnment it did changed steering wheel position.

There is no need for an alignment if the steering wheel is off. There is a thread that shows you how to adjust it and its very easy.

I prefer to point people to the Excursion Forum Tech Folder and tell them to scroll down to the second post, to the suspension section, where they can click on the several different spring swap how-to's I have listed there because that link you posted has bad directions for part of the swap. It's much easier to remove the front bumper than it is to remove the bumper bracketry, and that link has it wrong in that area, so I usually don't link to that how-to without an advisory to ignore that section and to just remove the 4 bolts holding the bumper on. And actually, getting the front bumper part wrong in that how-to was part of the impetus years ago to create the how-to write-ups, hints, tricks, and advice I put together to help others.

There's a lot of good stuff in there relevant to our engine and pickup version.

I'll have the one for this forum up and running too. Just had some personal setbacks the past couple years and haven't had the motivation to dive in and tackle this slow coding process needed to overhaul the one for this forum.
