2018 F-250 windshield

Made my first payment Saturday, cracked windshield today! Last week i had a rock hit the windshield, saw no damage. Drove truck to golf course this morning, came back to truck and a 12" crack on pass side. I can see where the rock hit, I guess sitting in the sun caused the crack to run. Anybody have their windshield replaced? Cost??

This is ridiculous, 3 rocks ( small rocks ) and 3 chips/cracks.

Those windshield are junk. Ford should be held accountable.

Just got off the phone with All Pro Auto Glass, my cost is $343.34 out the door for a original equipment Ford windshield (has Ford logo in center). Aftermarket windshield (no Ford logo) is $227.33 out the door. I would go aftermarket if my truck was older but damn, I just made the first payment! Ford windshield will be installed tomorrow.

Ford is making them thinner/lighter to save weight, that's partly why we get the phenomenal fuel mileage!

Thats a good argument.... For a small car. Our trucks are so heavy and powerful I don't think a 30 pound windshield would do a difference. And what is the point of saving fuel if you have to pay for a new windshield everytime a rock hits?

My auto policy covers free windshield chip repair, and OEM glass breakage replacement (including moonroof) repair with $100 deductible. Did you check your policy?

My Insurance co only covers repairs (Chips etc free to me) not replacement. I have to cover deductible ($500), they cover the rest for replacement. Looks like this one is on me. At least it's only $350, I thought it would be more. Can't be runn'in around in a new truck with a broke windshield!

Florida law (can you say "dumbfhit politician?") requires deductibles to be waived on windshields. You're already paying for it might as well take advantage of it.

Windshield replaced, I feel better now. I can think of at least 3-4 other things I could have spent that $350 on though...
