hey all -

rookie here so forgive me! - i bought a '70 F100 about 6 months back.

2 questions:

1) one (or more?) of the instrument panel lightbulbs are out.
how easy are they to change? i see that LMC sells replacement bulbs. do i have to take the whole panel off or can they be switched out from under the dash?

2) also - is there a bulb that illuminates the gear indicator on the steering column? looks like there should be but not positive. if so, is that an easy fix?

You'll need to remove the cluster and take the back off to change out the bulbs --(8) Phillips head screws around the perimeter of the cluster bezel face and a 3/4" open end wrench to take the speedometer cable connection loose on the back of the cluster. The bulbs can be bought through your local parts store. Get the number off the bulb or, better yet, take it with you to the parts store.

As far as I know, the gear selector dials weren't lighted until '78. The fixed, manual steering automatic column in my '69 F100 wasn't lighted but, the tilt wheel column I installed from a '78 F150 does have a lighted gear selector dial.
