When did Ford sell Cummins?

I know Ford use to own Cummins but when did they sell them? Having a discussion at work and a couple guys still believe Ford owns cummins. Does anybody have a link to prove it?

ford never sold cummins, because ford never owned cummins.
in 94 ford bought 1.3 million shares of cummins stock, or about 3% of the available common shares. and sold it back to cummins in 97.

The link above should certainly cause the doughnuts to be bought!

No FoMoCo to be seen anywhere.

Good job, Chris!

As a share holder you are partial owner. So you ate wrong there. Also cause you said they sold it back in 97. So by being a share holder and partial owner you just sound ignorant. Sorry but if you hols more then 0.5555555559% of any stock you are a partial owner. So please educate yourself. And yeah I'm an idiot. But at least I knew this.

there is a big difference between being an owner, and a share holder.
