Thanks for the Info miller_feed and pocket, I have had a rough learning curve on the AE I just bought. I'll take it back out of the box and try a few more things with it.
Maybe someone knows if you can see the door keypad code with it?
The speedo reset doesn't appear to be listed on the RHN. You get to it by selecting the ABS system instead of the Enhanced powertrain when you're connecting to the truck. Its under the "test onboard systems" tab. You'll need to know the number of rev's per mile for the tires you're running.
i have tried a few of the dropdown boxes. unless i am doing something wrong, i can't get real info. i can get manifold pressure volts, but manifold pressure.
same thing with with engine temp. i get engine temp sensor volts, but not actual temps. without a way to convert sensor volts to what i am looking for, the info it gives me is useless. then when i try to save the info , it puts it in an excel powerpoint file i think it is.
what ever file it stores it in, i cant open it. all i get is a bunch of empty boxes. if it click on show data, i get nothing.

If your truck is an automatic, you can ignore engine coolant temps as there is no actual input to the PCM for coolant temperatures. The coolant temp sensor on automatics is only connected to the dash gauge, so AE can't read coolant temps.
Not sure why you can't read manifold gauge pressure. I haven't seen anyone with that issue before. Maybe someone who has had this happen can chime in.
As for saving live data logs, yes it saves them as an Excel spreadsheet. You'll need Microsoft Excel, or another program that is compatible with Excel spreadsheets (Open Office is free and can read Excel spreadsheets).
When creating a file to save live data logs, you'll have to first create a name for the file as well as a destination directory. Typically with AE, when you do this it immediately starts recording. I usually hit the stop button, then get my truck ready for live data monitoring. Once I'm ready to go, I'll hit the record button, drive around to record data, then hit stop when I'm finished. Just note that the longer you record, the bigger the file, and more crap to have to sift through. I usually log for 10-30 seconds at a time, depending on what I'm doing (monitoring idle issues, WOT runs, cruising, etc).
Ok, I had to boot into Windows so I could check settings. I don't have them memorized.
In AE at the top, click on Vehicle > Communications Configuration.
In that box where it says "Computer Interface", select the radio button that says "USB or manually set serial port" The three check boxes below that I have them all turned off (I personally don't like it autoconnecting to every vehicle, since I do connect to other things than Powerstrokes all the time, which means I have to change the vehicle configuration).
Below that it says "Vehicle Interface". Make sure the Vehicle Interface Type in the drop down box is selected to "J1850 PWM". Initialization Type should be set to "Non-OBDII-only". The Fastmode and Heartbeat should be unchecked.
Once you have those settings, click OK. Make sure you are connected to the truck and the key is on, then go to Vehicle > Connect.
Maybe that will fix why it's not allowing you to select manifold gauge pressure.
the AE install WAS corrupted. i had a bitch of a time getting a clean install, but it is working properly now.
and most of the problems seem to be from a bad pedal Assembly.
the fuel pedal freaked out on me last Friday, leaving me stranded on the side of the road 25 miles from home.
it took almost 2 hours to get it to do anything more than idle, and once i got it moving, if i let off any more than 1/4 pedal, i would do nothing.
i made it home and swapped out the pedal assembly, and everything i good now, with no more codes, except for the poor fuel mileage.
