The reliability of the TorqShift automatic has put the manual in the "less reliable" corner in terms of needing a clutch or master/slave cylinder every so often
Seriously, the auto in 2009 is the way to go, especially because of the wife. Get it with the Tow/Haul option (if it's even an option anymore).
I love the manual transmission in my '09 F-250. It's rugged, for sure, and shifts as smooth or as "crisp" as I want it to. The shift gates took some getting used to for me coming from an '89 Ranger, but I had the hang of it in less than a day. My wife has the shifting part down perfect... now she needs to fine tune starting off.
Sorry to hear about the Chevy. My dad has an '09 2500HD with the 6L gas and 6L90E auto. He puts lots and lots of miles on his vehicles running parts in the oil fields, and hasn't had and problems with any of the Chevy autos.
Someone please tell me if I am wrong, but thought the torqshift didn't start until 2005 and someone on here said it started in 2003? Which year is correct???????
Thanks
