That grille guard looks good, will be even better with the correct expanded metal on it. I located one in WI about an hour from me. It's a dent version, but really in great shape. Now I just need to get the time to drive there and pick it up.

I agree. It needs the original expanded metal on it which I will put back on once I get it straightened out.
I replaced the vinyl stripping on the topper. It did not have any. It’s amazing at how much better it made it instantly look.
I took the truck in on Saturday to get aligned and they told me the drivers side king pin was bad. The knuckle could move straight up and down but had no cant in it so I think maybe it’s a spring or shim issue so I am going to do a spring delete kit in it and see if that helps before I tear it apart. Mainly because it was supposed to have been replaced when I had the front end rebuilt.
Love the old school camper shell. Nice find.
Like you I put new vinyl on it and painted with rattle can.
Mine hit the back of the cab so I had to pull the skin off and modify the frame.
I went to do the Dana 60 kingpin spring delete on my front axle and it appeared that fixed my looseness issue.
I’ll try and get it aligned soon although it really seems that there is really only toe in and out adjustments that are done on these and I have them 1/8” toe In.
Me and my minion went truck camping this weekend. It was a pretty good time and the truck with its setup went anywhere I wanted it to. I was actually really impressed.
I’ll spend the next month washing mud off.
I need to get my fuel tank issue figured out. Only having the tank behind the seat requires me to carry fuel cans which I’m not a fan of. There is also something wrong with my current tank, which is a LMC replacement. It either has a pin hole in the pickup tube or it’s vapor locking around 3/8 of a tank. The truck acts like it’s starving for fuel and you can’t run it under that.
Ill make a separate post but any ideas as to the causation of the issue?
