Frame questions

I need some help here, I'm working on a 1970 F250 4x4 long bed with a 460ci 4-speed (not what trans is in it) and i had my father-in-law just give me his old 1976 4x4 long bed with a 360ci c6 trans, my question is how similar are the frames and can I use any of the drivetrain and how difficult would it be to use and fit engine, trans and transfer case in my existing frame. Thanks

The up to 1977 (Not 77.5 + with the new suspension and wider frame in the rear, even though the 77.5+ axles are highly desirable due to disc brakes and being high pinion axles) frame is a clone of the 67-72 F-250's except for a 2 inch longer wheelbase. The 76 will have either a Dana 44 low-pinion or a Dana 60 low pinion axle with disc brakes. You can use the 76 FE engine supports if the 70's are screwed up with the 460 install. You can transfer the front axle over. Does it have a power assist system on the 76? It can also be used, but a 77.5-79 PS box is better, but does require more work. The trans and transfer case can be used also. The TC is the more desirable NP 205 divorced case compared with the present Dana 24 case. The rear Dana 60 can be swapped also as the frame widths are the same. The 76 D60 is better due to having 35? spline axle shafts compared with the 70's 16 spline shafts.

Thanks for the information that helps, one more question, are the core supports and fender aprons similar in size as well.

Cure support can be modified to work on the 67/72 pickup. the inner fenders will not work at all.
