I have everything working now and installed complete with the unit inside the cab, wipers now working properly with the mods I made . Vintage air was certain the wipers would work going by their instructions but I made a display I set up and videoed and sent them the evidence of how wrong they were. With discussions I told them I was going to try flipping both plenums opposite of there instructions and using what was meant to be for the floor for the defrost and the defrost for the floor. I different ECU was needed to allow the controls to work in this manner. I had to modify the wiper control arm on the passenger side to clear the unit.
While waiting for the parts from Vintage Air I hung the left side door after wet sanding a couple runs I had in the clear coat and installing the weather stripping ..
After that I installed the stereo under dash..
Today I installed the speakers in the interior panels I had made earlier for the rear corners and made provision to mount carpet under the rear window.
I'm expecting the glass to arrive within a couple weeks so hopefully have that in soon..
John, your knees must be feeling good. You've got a lot of work down lately. That F350 is looking good.
Getting around pretty good abe but it still bothers me, more some days than others. I wish I could get these fenders and hood painted but that won't happen for several months from now so in the meantime I just keep plugging away with what I can on the M350..
Not the clearest picture but my gauges that were ordered November 25th finally arrived
a week ago so the only wiring involved to get done now is the interior light.
I had this 4 inch column drop and the plan was to use it but after installing the column it looked like things were looking
a little low, once the wheel was on it was hard seeing the gauges....so
I had to cut a piece out of my dash extension
and use another shorter column drop I had on hand..
Then mounted the wheel ..
I have however run into a problem ,when I mount the button to the wheel the horn blows continually and I can't figure out why..
Also mounted the seat, it is perfect where it is positioned but there is a problem with it too as it won't move on its track.
And my glass is finally being shipped
I'm wondering if i tightened down the wheel too much. I connect the wires to the horn button but pressing it doesn't do a thing but as soon as I try to insert the button to the wheel it constantly blows the horn and it is deafening to a half deaf guy in a closed small shop...lol
There is 3 springs under the button, I pilled the wheel off the column this afternoon after talking with the tech department at Ididit had he said to put some electrical tape on the tabs holding the horn contact that he said could be making contact with the wheel adapter and that appears to have fixed the problem. Button pretty much needs to be only pushed dead centre to make it work but at least it is working as it is supposed to.
I also new I was going to run into a problem with the shift lever from this transmission with it being straight. It will be in the way of my right knee and needs to be bent.
This is it in the picture alongside a Lokar tube I exchanged on my pickup that would be the perfect bend but can't be fastened to the short lever from the transmission.
I would like to be able to bend the one in black on the thick end but the tube appears to be pressed onto a piece of rubber which I figure is also glued .
If I heat it to the cherry red I need to bend it I might end up with a smoking deal. If I do destroy it I'm wondering if I'll be able to mend my ways...lol
