regulating fuel, without the stock regulator

im working on a super low budget build.
ive converted a 120-ish k 97 7.3.
with all of the 01 SD goodies.
had all of the other updated stuff on my 01 block that broke a piston.
new up pipes and new water pump.

I have tried searching aftermarket fuel systems to find them outside of my budget, for now...
but I have not seen a low dollar "hybrid" system.

I want to add a external regulator and fuel pressure gauge to the stock fuel bowl, deleting the stock regulator.

im also going to -6AN hoses from the fuel bowl to the frame.

why?
its $100 for feed and return lines, mine are toast.
60 bucks to rebuild the regulator

I already have a regulator and gauge on hand.
along with AN fittings and hose.

all I really need is a block that will bolt up to the old regulator housing spot, and fitted with the AN fitting, and maybe a 1/8" NPT for the gauge.

is there anything like this out there? or is this something I need to make?
I dabble in machining.

If all you need is the block, it might be easier to just make it yourself. Another option would be to look for an air compressor manifold that would fit the bill. Might have to break out the drill and tap as those will all have NPT fittings, but the hard work will be done and excess ports are easily plugged.

My opinion, bite the bullet till you can afford the right stuff. Make your own, and save if you have the know how.

thanks guys, im fairly new to building these PSD's
while cruising e-bay I found this, that may fit the bill.
the issue with the cast stock regulator housing, is that its got a flat on one side.
if I matched the thread, thinking its a NMPT, it would leak out of that flat spot in the housing.

this one looks like I can adapt it, got it on order well see if it works.

If I'm understanding and reading this right, what you purchased, ask your going to achieve is regulating, regulated fuel.
. Gut the OEM fpr to feed your external fpr.
McMaster has a twist **** regulator(I used one for wvo til the heat was to much), but would work for d2. Use one of their "manifolds" to feed the heads, while the fpr is installed on an open port...

my alterier motive was honestly to get the fuel bowl to accept -6 AN.
I have never seen anything like the part I just purchased.
figured id have to make something, which would have to delete the stock FPR due to me saying, "im not getting that deep into this"
hence the question about external regulation.
but now, after this part gets here, I can just run a fitting to AN, give me the stock-ish regulated pressure, and I can keep the external FPR on the shelf.

Yeah... I'm building a 94.5 into a SD (with the 8-bolt intake on the heads), and I was lost in the ether - in regard to the end goal here.

I see you still have the OBS valve cover gaskets to deal with.

That is a nice looking package. If you only want the housing I would be honored to take the other pieces off of your hands.

my engine harness is 01 SD, so gaskets are the only thing I gotta do

I swapped to the SD gaskets yesterday, but didn't finish due to the lack of shrink tubing. hoping to finish that up today.

the 94.5 is a different animal than the SD youll have a few issues to deal with. but not imposable.

I bet you would! im gonna use the FPR that's coming, the external regulator was just incase I had to make my own housing, but now I don't have to.
im not tryin to run 120 injectors and try to feed them as much fuel as I can, ill just let the stock ish parts do this job, but now I can go to NMPT to -6 an
