What Are You Doing To Your Truck?
Well, although I currently am not doing anything right now, I am starting a list of a few things that I wanna upgrade. I'd also like some input from you guys as in approximately a little under 4k miles I'll finally hit 100k!!!
I'm needing some new tires anyway, so I've got those and some rims picked out: Method Race Wheel's Double Standard 17x8.5, along with some Toyo M/t Lt295/70R17 (33's) E's.
However what are some regular maintenance must-do's...We do regular oil changes, the usual stuff, but need to look more into stuff like transmission fluids, etc.
Can you guys suggest a list of things to go over please. A few things I'd like to look into are some beefier brakes(also recently started hearing a weird sound coming from the front right hub area, like a ree ree sound while slowing down, not any other time), and possibly change gears, got 4.73's but want more torque, it's feeling a little sluggish, and for towing...I only get 10mpg so it isn't a big issue, was thinkin 4.56's.
Thanks guys

@barthel, those guages look AMAZING!!!!
As for what I'm doing, I just bought a "Better Built" tool chest for my truck, fits between and below the bedrails instead of on top of them so it's sorta hidden. Picked it up for $50 on CL and had it bolted in in about 30 minutes. Its exactly what I wanted! Don't have too much room in a regular cab for storage! The next project I'm looking into is replacing my rear tank with a Bronco tank (I believe the Bronco's tank is aft of the rear axle). I'm still looking into it, but I'd be replacing a 18 gallon tank with a 33 gallon tank, giving me around a 52 gallon fuel capacity! Only thing I'm trying to figure out is where to put the spare tire. Speaking of which, my spare is shot so I need that replaced.
And this brings me to my last upgrade; I'm currently looking to buy 3.55 gears to replace my 4.10's and I'll be getting a Detroit Locker gear-engaged LSD to go with it! That's going to be my Christmahanniquanzikah gift to myself.

Heres the new aluminum line running along the fire wall behind the carb:

New fitting for the fuel cell on the left side, old one on the right side:

The hose thats running between the fuel cell and the fuel pump:

The new fittings on the trans cooler that are the same style that will be used to finish the fuel line in the engine compartment:
I have reassembled the 73 F250.
First it had the rivet in the cylinder. So than I tore it down bought new gaskets and put it back together.
Than it was HORRIBLE off idle. I couldn't step on the gas without it stalling.
So I tore the front of my carb off, than took the whole carb off, only to realize the secondary's were hanging open a whole bunch. Finally I got it running, still trying to flush the oil out of the coolant that dumped down the antifreeze holes when I was coating the cylinder walls with oil to keep from rusting.
Did a hack job exhaust just so it could be drivable. Since the passenger side manifold was completely crystallized. So I got a real truck manifold to replace it. Well the truck manifold was a different exit than the car so I had to make a new pipe.
Next on the list is to completely redo the exhaust and route it CORRECTLY instead of all this mickey mouse crap.
Redo the entire suspension, all the bushings, shocks, replace the front springs, check for broken rear leaf springs. Replace the center link and drag bar and tie rod.
Oh but I did fix the speedometer after it needed a brand new cable and a new speedometer gear! So that's a bonus.
After I do a tear down of the suspension I can check the brakes.
I knew the brake lines needs to be replace, the fuel lines from the tanks need to be replaced, the transmission filter needs to get changed.
It basically needs new everything :P!
Electrical fires aren't fun!
